Great shoes for training if you don't want to be wearing heels for hours. I went back and forth a bit between the 39 and 40 (I'm usually a 38 in vivaz heels, ended up settling on the 40). Definitely order at least up one size as recommended in the description. Customer service was good.
These are unbelievably comfy with discreet padding and look cute as! I would absolutely suggest ordering at least 0.5-1 size up from your normal shoe size though and I'm a but concerned of wearing through the sole as it feels a little thin but I suppose the thin sole will make it easier to dance in..
If this party is one of your first forays into the world of partner dancing you certainly do not need to buy special ballroom dancing shoes. You should wear comfortable shoes with leather or suede soles that stay on your feet well; shoes that lace up or have adjustable straps work very well. Sneakers, rubber-soled shoes (e.g. Doc Maarten's), and shoes that are too big are very difficult to dance in.
