In 2016, The Black Sheep was selected as one of 50 world cinema classics by the British Film Institute (BFI) for its 50th anniversary film season to be shown at BFI Southbank in September 2018.[13]
In May 2018, it was announced that a U.S. remake of The Black Sheep would be released in the United States by A24. The remake is expected to be shot in New Zealand and stars Shaun of the Dead's Katee Sackhoff as a grieving wife with an unhinged husband.
On September 19, 2012, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment released the film on DVD, Blu-ray, and as part of the Scream Factory 2-disc Collector's Edition Blu-ray release. The first disc includes the film's theatrical cut, a short featurette titled Shaun of the Dead and Black Sheep, and a short documentary titled Shaun of the Dead: Undead and Uncut. The second disc includes the film's director's cut and a documentary titled Black Sheep.
