Vietnam offers an investment visa for foreigners (DT) looking to establish a company in the country. I do not have all the details on the DT visa. But I also know that the capital investment required is substantial (between $130,000 to $4,300,000).
The investor visa is for genuine businesses looking to operate in Vietnam. This visa is not appropriate for side hustles, digital nomads, or freelancers. Opening up a company here is not a simple process; in addition to the substantial investment, it requires legal costs, fees, and hiring local staff. The Visa by Investment is not a simple visa scheme like in Montenegro or Estonia that you apply as a work-around for a long-term stay visa.
Not without marrying a Vietnamese citizen or applying for an investment visa. Under current visa rules, there is no retirement visa in Vietnam. Foreigners looking to retire to Vietnam can only stay here for 30-days without crossing the border and re-entering the country on a visa run.
Travel money cards are a safe and convenient way to spend in Vietnamese dong (VND) - and if you pick the right one they could help you save on currency conversion, too. Top up your card balance in dollars and convert those dollars to dong to spend in stores and restaurants, or withdraw cash from ATMs when you need it. Easy.
The Wise travel money card is likely to get you a better dong exchange rate and lower fees compared to your bank. Spending on the card will use the local currency if you have it in your Wise account - no matter where in the world you are. And if not, the card can simply auto-convert your money at the real rate, for a small fee.
Often this is the best way to buy Vietnamese dong (VND). It is faster and cheaper buy your Vietnamese dong online. The USD to VND exchange rate is better online and give you more Vietnamese dong for your US dollars. You can reserve your order, pick it up in a store or even have it delivered to your door.
A borrower that is not a foreign invested enterprise must open a bank account for the purposes of the foreign loan at the authorized banks in Vietnam. For foreign invested enterprises, they may choose to use a direct investment capital account (DICA) for the purpose of receipts and expenditures, with respect to the medium or long-term offshore loan(s). A DICA can be utilized by the borrower for the same purpose, regarding the short-term loan(s) in addition to its current offshore loan account(s).
Decree No. 155/2020/ND-CP was issued on December 31, 2020 to provide guidelines for Securities Law 2019 and the Law amending certain articles of the Securities Laws on offers for sale of securities, listing, trading, business and investment in securities, and services in relation to securities and securities market. Foreign investors may invest without limits into debt instruments of the Government, government-backed bonds, municipal bonds, corporate bonds, fund certificates, shares of investment companies, derivative securities, DRs and secured warrants, unless otherwise prescribed by relevant laws.
At the end of 2008, two years after the first Securities Law, the SSC and the MoF enacted Decision 121/2008/QD-BTC to make the market more interesting for foreign investment as well as to penalize those who disobey the Securities Law. Decision 121 governed the activities of foreign investors in the Vietnamese securities market.
On August 18, 2015, the MoF issued Circular 123/2015/TT-BTC governing foreign investment activities in Vietnamese securities market (became effective on October 1, 2015), to guide Decree 60 and replace Circular 213. On 16 August 2021, Circular 123 was replaced by Circular 51 of 2021.
The SBV underscores that the focus of its monetary policy framework is to promote macroeconomic stability and to control inflation. Vietnam confirms that it is bound under the Articles of Agreement of the IMF to avoid manipulating its exchange rate in order to prevent effective balance of payments adjustment or to gain an unfair competitive advantage and will refrain from any competitive devaluation of the Vietnamese dong. The SBV is also making ongoing efforts to further modernize and make more transparent its monetary policy and exchange rate framework. In support of these efforts, the SBV will continue to improve exchange rate flexibility over time, allowing the Vietnamese dong to move in line with the stage of development of the financial and foreign exchange markets and with economic fundamentals, while maintaining macroeconomic and financial market stability.
Car business is attracting investment in Vietnam. People need to travel and need high security. There are conditions for warranty and maintenance facilities as well, including the requirement for workshops, warehouses, equipment, tools, human resources, quality management system, fire prevention mechanisms, environmental protection, labour safety and sanitation, in accordance with the law.
The surge of foreign investments in recent years from the likes of Samsung, Intel, and Foxconn has created jobs and a vibrant middle class, as well as nurtured many local small and medium business owners who have become suppliers to the big manufacturers.
Analysts believed when such as move happens it could potentially bring billions of dollars of investments into Vietnam because ETFs and index funds that benchmark to FTSE emerging markets indices would need to buy Vietnamese equities.
Vietnamese online-shoppers favor U.S products, especially technology and electronic products. Due to a lack of trust in local e-commerce platforms, Vietnamese prefer buying from trusted e-commerce sites such as Amazon and Rakuten. However, unclear government policy and regulation for cross-border e-commerce is an obstacle for those popular companies entering the Vietnam market. Therefore, customers in Vietnam who want to buy goods on Amazon.com have to use an intermediary service such as Weshop.com.vn (launched in 2015), and fado.vn (launched in 2014).

My take is Synology has decided to exert more control over the hardware, and removing support for third-party USB dongles is part of the effort. In the future, there will likely be new supported dongles that are explicitly approved or manufactured by Synology.
Hi Dong,Thank you for the great reviews!I was thinking about buying Synology NAS, but ended up building one myself.Raspberry Pi 4 (8GB RAM) manages software RAID 1 of two HGST 6TB drives in JBOD enclosure. Zero issues in two years. And it survived several hard shutdowns due to electricity problems.RPi is connected over Ethernet to RT-AX92U. The router acts as wireless node of XT8 (wired LAN is not an option in some rooms ). Both XT8s are using wired backhaul and 42095 FW. Wi-Fi 6 client (Air M1) connected to XT8 node has 40-60MB write and 70-90MB read to/from the NAS.Funny part is that using XT8 as wireless node is less reliable than using AX92U.My major concern when opting to use software vs hardware RAID is reliability of consumer grade HW RAID controllers.Especially when there is additional functionality on top of basic RAID. E.g. in certain cases failure of HW RAID controller may render even RAID 1 disks unusable.
Bank of America, N.A. does not buy or sell Iraqi dinar banknotes or Vietnamese dong banknotes, and currently has no plans to offer this service in the future. You may have read on the internet or heard from friends that Bank of America, N.A. buys and sells these banknotes, or has plans to offer this service. This information is not correct.
We urge you to seek the advice of a competent, professional investment advisor before making any investment. You should treat with extreme caution any investment schemes you read about on the internet, in chat rooms or hear about from friends or acquaintances.
The Treasury report said that in addition to extensive currency interventions, Vietnam and Switzerland also met the other two criteria which are running large trade surpluses with the United States and also large surpluses in its current account with the world, the broadest measure of trade which includes not only goods and services but also investment flows. 59ce067264
